National Make-A-Will Month
This August the NSU Foundation is celebrating National Make-A-Will Month, which is a time to take an important step towards protecting your loved ones, preserving your wishes, and creating a lasting legacy. Thoughtfully prepared estate plans ensure that your assets are distributed exactly as you intend and provide peace of mind.
As you plan for your future, consider including NSU in your will or estate plan. Leaving NSU in your will costs nothing today but can have a transformational impact on future Spartans.
Join us this month for complimentary webinars covering the fundamentals of wills. These informative sessions will introduce the essentials of a will and provide the foundational knowledge you’ll need to begin planning your legacy with confidence.

COL Harold Hagans Says, 'No Amount Is Too Small'
Many potential donors may have the notion that they do not have the monetary resources to make a legacy gift commitment to NSUF. While an endowed scholarship fund does require a $25,000 initiation fee, it does not have to be paid in one lump sum and can be paid over five years. Lastly, if you really can not afford to make a $25,000 commitment, contribute what you can. Remember — no amount is too small.

Norfolk State University Foundation provides substantial support to students at Norfolk State through over 350 endowments, offering scholarships across various academic disciplines. Over the last three years, the foundation consistently awarded over $3.5 million in endowed and non-endowed scholarships.
School Support
Norfolk State University Foundation proudly supports and aligns with the mission and strategic plan for Norfolk State University. By prudently investing and managing a strong financial portfolio over $90M, NSUF is able to support NSU with stable funding which can be used to improve programs, research initiatives, scholarships, and campus improvements.
Community Work
Norfolk State University Foundation believes that investing time in cultivating our donors and community leaders is crucial for establishing and maintaining successful partnerships to support Norfolk State University. Our local community plays an active role in supporting NSU beyond financial contributions.
